Revitalizing the Oddi Continuing Learning Inventory

چکیده
The Oddi Continuing Learning Inventory (OCLI) is one of the most popular instruments for measuring self-directed learning (SDL). Although several previous studies have validated it, an exploratory application confirmatory factor analysis had not been attempted; such provided new insights. Responses from 159 students Aalborg University, a Problem-Based institution known its high degree project work, were analyzed. This investigation examines all previously suggested structures against commonly applied measures and further develops promising, identifying three-factor structure reaching standard thresholds model fit. newly identified underlying dimensions OCLI—internal locus control, ability to be self-regulating, avidity learning—simplify interpretation factors help mitigate some instrument’s problems. will serve keep OCLI relevant as instrument in future. We recommend revise OCLI, rephrasing reconceptualizing items that aged poorly well investigating pattern reverse-coded items. Lastly this paper suggests other statistical might revitalized through similar methods, taking advantage advances computation analysis.

متن کاملLifelong , self-directed learning and the maintenance of competence: the triple helix of continuing professional development
Abstract It has been proposed that we think of continuing medical education (CME) as a two-stranded helix, in which one strand represents the internal characteristics of the learner-physician, the other strand the culture and environment in which he or she practices and lives. In many countries, the product of these two strands has been increasingly termed ‘continuing professional development’...

In 1984, nearly one in three Kenyan women using contraception were using the IUD, but by 2004, th...
